Adding comments

To all of you legitimate users who would like to add comments, I apologize. I have had such an unrelenting, horrendous amount of pornographic comments, that I decided simply to block all entries. I'm sorry, but it seems the world is this way these days. MJ

Don't throw it away! I can make something out of it!

Meet an inveterate collector of all things small, tid-bits, and cast-offs. I have a collection of rusty metal pieces. Then there is the box containing twelve years' worth of pencil stubs. Like the Dada artist, Kurt Schwitters, I pick up "junk" wherever I go. What I can't recycle, I use to create something. I transform frayed, holey tee-shirts into sturdy baskets. Leftover scraps of mat board do double duty as book covers. Sunday coupon brochures and old magazines make great collage papers. Old books and items of all kinds become altered art. I call it a collage mentality....I love to take useless, discarded, unwanted things and put them in the right place to become honored art objects. Even gemstones were once buried away, covered by dirt until found and polished into beauty. These are the treasures of darkness...hidden riches in secret places. Let the obscure, unseen, broken, forsaken and forgotten find a place in the light to become desired and cherished things of beauty.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work, and remember to always... DO ART!
